Small Business Spotlight: GG at Home
If there is one thing I’m passionate about, it’s small businesses and supporting local. Today, I’m highlighting one of my favorite small businesses on the Connecticut Shoreline - GG at Home. From their warm and welcoming Niantic café, to their full-service catering kitchen in North Stonington, GG at Home is redefining what it means to eat local in Connecticut.
The Niantic Café
Overlooking Niantic Bay, you’ll find GG at Home’s full service cafe and eatery. GG at Home comes from the team behind Gourmet Galley, and you can feel that catering background in all the right ways.
The space is warm and inviting, filled with beautiful home goods, gifts, specialty products, prepared meals, and more. There’s also the cafe tucked inside, quietly serving some of the best bites in the area. Everything feels simple, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared, and you can tell the team really cares about what they’re putting out.
I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the oatmeal with fresh berries and Vermont maple syrup, the daily quiche with spinach and mushrooms, and a hot caramel latte. Everything was excellent. The menu changes and leans into what’s in season, which I really appreciate.
By lunchtime, the cafe shifts seamlessly into made to order sandwiches and salads that are fresh, satisfying, and perfect for a midday break. Inside the shop, you’ll also find gourmet packaged meals, curated charcuterie, and a beautiful selection of gifts and entertaining essentials. It’s the kind of place where you go in for lunch and leave with something you didn’t know you needed.
Later in the day, GG at Home is also a great spot for craft cocktails, beer, wine, and mimosas that feel relaxed but elevated. There’s an impressive selection of specialty spirits too, including rare gins and bourbons, which makes it especially fun for anyone who appreciates a well stocked bar. When the weather is nice, the outdoor seating really shines and offers the perfect place to sip a drink and take in the Niantic vibe.

North Stonington: Catering Kitchen and Prepared Meals
In addition to the Niantic café, GG at Home has their flagship location in North Stonington, home to their full catering kitchen and a bustling retail space stocked with fresh pastries and prepared meals. This is where everything comes together. It’s a behind-the-scenes hub, built to handle everything from intimate at-home dinners to weddings with long guest lists, without losing the thoughtful, personal touch they’re known for.
What really sets their catering apart is how seasonal and intentional it feels. They’re not relying on the same menu year-round or defaulting to crowd-pleasers that feel generic. Instead, their offerings shift with the seasons and with what’s actually fresh and available. Spring menus feel lighter and greener. Summer events lean bright and vibrant. Fall brings richness and depth, and winter dishes are comforting in the best way. There’s a rhythm to it all, and you can tell each menu is planned with care rather than pulled from a standard catering playbook.
During my visit to the North Stonington location, I picked up a mix of prepared meals and treats to take home, including their bolognese lasagna, beef and barley soup, French onion dip, carrot cake, and more. Everything was excellent, the kind of food that feels both elevated and genuinely comforting. I also grabbed a box of their pastries, which are some of the best I’ve had anywhere in Connecticut. The croissants were incredibly flaky and buttery, and the almond croissant was truly next level (one of those pastries you keep thinking about long after it’s gone)!
